Infection Protection Act (IfSG)

The Infection Protection Act of the Federal Republic of January 1, 2001 regulates the legal obligations to prevent and combat infectious diseases in humans. It is therefore mainly preventative in nature. The aim of the measures is to detect infections at an early stage and prevent them from spreading further or to prevent communicable diseases in humans. This includes the statutory reporting requirement, the possible necessary isolation of the sick person, the quarantine of any infected people and disinfection measures.
